Emergency Channel
The Emergency Channel is your emergency channel per display: in an emergency, you use it to instantly override a screen's current content with a pre-selected emergency message – for example an evacuation notice, a warning or an important announcement. Regular operation pauses until you lift the emergency again.
What is the Emergency Channel for?
In normal operation, a display plays the assigned content (Playlist, Layout or app – visible under „Wird jetzt ausgespielt“ (Now playing)). With the Emergency Channel, you additionally define an emergency content that you publish to the screen at the push of a button. Once active, the Screen shows only this content – ideal for immediately displaying a consistent message in an emergency.
You trigger the Emergency Channel deliberately (e.g. in an emergency). The fallback app, on the other hand, kicks in automatically when the regular content fails technically. Both complement each other – one is your active emergency button, the other your automatic safety net.
Where do I find the Emergency Channel?
Open Screens in the left menu and select the desired display. On the display detail page you'll find – at the very bottom, after the Adresse (Address), Statistik (Statistics), Report and Fallback Apps sections – the Emergency Channel row. As long as nothing is set, it shows „kein Inhalt“ (no content).

Set the emergency content
In the Emergency Channel row, click the content field („kein Inhalt“). The dialog Inhalt auf das Display publizieren (Publish content to the display) opens. On the left, select the content type (Layout, Medien (Media), Playlist or App), mark the desired emergency content and confirm with Bestätigen (Confirm).

Set up your emergency message in advance – e.g. a clear still image „Gebäude bitte verlassen“ (Please leave the building) or a notice layout. In an emergency, you only want to select the content, not design it first. Choose offline-capable content where possible (a local image or video) so the emergency channel appears reliably even during internet problems.
Trigger & lift the emergency
Once an emergency content is set, you play it out to the screen via the publish icon (↗) to the right of the field. From then on the Screen shows the emergency content and hides regular operation. To return to normal operation, you then publish the regular content to the display again.
Publishing takes effect immediately on the actual screen. Only trigger the Emergency Channel in a real emergency and check beforehand that the correct display is selected.
Tips
Prepare emergency content for your most important scenarios (evacuation, operational disruption, safety notice). Combine the Emergency Channel with fallback apps: the Emergency Channel is your deliberately triggered emergency channel, the fallback app your automatic safety net. Test the process once on a non-critical display so that in an emergency every step is second nature.
