Noticeboard

Noticeboard is the app for short messages on your screens. If you have a brief message, Noticeboard gets it onto the screen quickly and effectively: align the text (centered, left- or right-aligned), choose a font from a wide range of Google Fonts, and give it the right emphasis with a background image or background color.

Purpose

Noticeboard is ideal for spontaneous notices and short messages – e.g. "meeting room occupied today", greetings, opening hours or internal announcements. The message is displayed as a styled text block; unlike a Playlist, it's about one clear statement per screen.

Requirements

  • An active revolutionSCREEN account with access to my.rstv.app.
  • At least one set-up screen on which the instance is to be displayed.
  • Optional: a background image (e.g. logo or mood image).

Install the app

Open my.rstv.app and go to Apps. Since the Appstore under "Erkunden" (Explore) only shows a selection, the fastest way to find Noticeboard is via the search field at the top (or via the Interne Kommunikation (Internal Communication) category or "Alle" (All)).

Appstore: enter "Noticeboard" in the search field at the top.

Click the Noticeboard tile. The detail page with a short description opens. If the app is not yet installed, first click Installieren (Install). Then (or if Installiert (Installed) is already shown) go to Neue Instanz (New instance).

What is an instance?

An instance is a specific, configured output of the app (your message with colors, font and layout). You can create several instances per app and display them differently depending on the screen.

Create a new instance

After clicking "Neue Instanz" (New instance) the editor opens. On the left you set the appearance, on the right you see the live preview. At the top you assign an instance name (field "Type here …"), can set tags and choose the format (portrait/landscape). Save at the top right with Speichern & Schliessen (Save & Close).

Configuration in detail

The settings in the left area:

  • Text tool: Bold, Italic, Underline as well as the alignment (left, centered, right-aligned). The font size cannot be set manually – Noticeboard scales the text automatically (responsively) to fit the screen.
  • Primary font: the Google Font for your text (default: Exo 2) – selectable from the list.
  • Text: the text color (e.g. #FFFFFF for white).
  • Text background: fill color directly behind the text – leave it transparent or set a color so the text stays readable on images.
  • Background color: the surface color of the entire board (e.g. #1E0F43).
  • Background image: choose an image via Bilder (Images) – gives the message more weight. (Tip: with an image background, set a text background.)
  • Text field: here you type the actual message. The preview updates immediately.
Check readability

In the live preview, make sure there is enough contrast between the text and background color – especially with background images. Short, easily readable messages work best on the screen.

Save & display on the screen

  1. Name the instance, choose the format and save with Speichern & Schliessen (Save & Close).
  2. The instance is now available under the app.
  3. Assign it to your screen – directly as content or embedded in a Layout or a Playlist.
  4. At the next sync the message appears on the display.

Tips & troubleshooting

Multiple messages?

Create a separate instance for each statement and combine them in a Playlist.

Text is cut off

Shorten the message. The font scales automatically (responsively) to the screen size – there is no manual reduction.

Poor readability on image

Use a text background or choose a calmer background image.

Changes don't appear

Check whether the instance is assigned to the correct screen/Layout and the Player is online.
