Microsoft PowerPoint

Microsoft PowerPoint — brings a PowerPoint presentation from your Microsoft account directly to the screen – the slides run through automatically.

Purpose

Display existing presentations (info, figures, greetings) on the screen without exporting. Changes to the original file are applied at the next sync.

Use cases

Here's what Microsoft PowerPoint looks like on the screen – examples in action:

Requirements

  • An active revolutionSCREEN account with access to my.rstv.app.
  • A Microsoft account with access to the desired presentation.
  • At least one screen set up for playback.

Install the app

Open my.rstv.app and go to Apps. In the Alle (All) list, find the Microsoft PowerPoint tile and click it.

App Store: click the „Microsoft PowerPoint" tile.
App Store: click the „Microsoft PowerPoint" tile.

The detail page opens. If the app is not yet installed, first click Installieren (Install). Then (or if it already shows Installiert / Installed) click Neue Instanz (New instance).

App detail page – create a playback with „Neue Instanz" (New instance).

What is an instance?

An instance is a specific, configured output of the app – a connected PowerPoint file with its display settings. You can create multiple instances and assign them to different screens.

Manage instances

After clicking, you land in the app's instance management. Here you see existing instances and create another one with Neue Instanz (New instance, top right).

Instance management: create a „Neue Instanz" (New instance) at the top right.

Connect & configure Microsoft

In the editor, on the left under Zugang (Access), connect your Microsoft account via einloggen (log in) (status logged in) and select the presentation. On the right, the live preview runs.

Configured instance: settings on the left, live preview on the right.

The settings in the left area – field by field:

  • Zugang (Access): connected Microsoft account (status logged in).
  • Change slides: automatic slide change on/off.
  • Übergang (Transition): animation transition between slides (e.g. Slide).
  • Bild strecken (Stretch image): scale the image to fill the format (toggle).
  • Dauer (in Sekunden) (Duration in seconds): display time per slide (e.g. 10).

Display duration in Playlist & Layout

PowerPoint shows multiple items in sequence per instance. If you add the instance to a Playlist or a Layout, you control how long it runs via the element duration. To do this, click the Dauer (Duration) of the app element in the playlist.

Note: This logic applies to all apps with multiple items per instance.

In the Elementdauer bearbeiten (Edit element duration) dialog, the pro Post (per post) toggle decides between two variants:

Variant 1: pro Post = OFF (total duration)

The set time is the total duration of the instance. Example 00:01:40 (100 seconds): The instance is shown for 100 seconds. The items run through in sequence during this time and start over from the beginning if needed – so depending on the time, not necessarily all items are shown (or some are shown multiple times).

pro Post = OFF: the time applies as the total duration of the instance.
pro Post = OFF: the time applies as the total duration of the instance.

Variant 2: pro Post = ON (duration per item)

The set time applies per item. Example 00:00:10: Each item is shown for exactly 10 seconds. With 12 items, all 12 items are shown for 10 seconds each (total duration 120 seconds). This ensures that every item really appears.

pro Post = ON: the time applies per item – all items are shown.
pro Post = ON: the time applies per item – all items are shown.
Rule of thumb

Every item should appear reliably? Turn on pro Post and set seconds per item. Fixed time specification (e.g. for the timing of a playlist)? Leave pro Post off and set the total duration.

Save & play on the screen

  1. Name the instance and configure it as desired.
  2. Save at the top right with Speichern & Schliessen (Save & Close).
  3. The instance is now available under the app.
  4. Assign it to your screen – directly as content or embedded in a Layout or a Playlist.
  5. At the next sync, the content appears on the display and updates automatically.

Tips & troubleshooting

Preview empty

Connect your Microsoft account via einloggen (log in) and check file access.

Content does not appear
