Microsoft Excel
With the «Microsoft Excel» app you display an Excel spreadsheet from OneDrive live on the screen, e.g. sales figures, KPIs or schedules.
Purpose
Show live data, charts and dashboards from your Excel files. The content updates automatically, without manual uploads. Ideal for teams that work with Excel.

Requirements
- An active revolutionSCREEN account with access to my.rstv.app.
- An Excel file in OneDrive with a share link or embed link.
- At least one configured screen.
Install the app
In the sidebar on the left, click «Apps» and at the top «zum App-Store» (to the Appstore).
Scroll to the «Alle» (All) list and click the «Microsoft Excel» tile. Use the category buttons to narrow down the list.
The app's detail view opens. If it is not yet installed, first click «Installiere» (Install). Then click «Neue Instanz» (New instance). «App Guide» opens a short guide.
An instance is a separate configuration of the app, e.g. one gallery for the reception and another for the canteen. You can create as many instances as you like and use each one individually on screens, in playlists or layouts.
Create a new instance
Under «Apps › Meine Apps» (My apps) you see all instances of the app as tiles. Use «Neue Instanz» (New instance) at the top right to add another one, and click a tile to open an existing one.
In the editor, hover over the title and click the pencil to give the instance a name. A new instance shows «Kein Name angegeben» (No name specified) in red until then. At the top right you choose whether the preview appears in portrait or landscape.
Insert the share link
Under «Link Typ» (Link type), select which kind of link you have and paste it into the «Link» field. The spreadsheet then appears in the live preview.
Anyone who knows the link can see the spreadsheet. Only enter it into the instance and do not share it further.
Configuration in detail
On the left are all settings, on the right the live preview immediately shows how the instance looks on the screen. Use the arrow next to the card to collapse the settings.
- Link Typ: type of link: «Embed (OneDrive)» or «Shared Link (Business)».
- Link: the link to the Excel file.
- Reload: reloads the spreadsheet at regular intervals.
- Intervall zum Nachladen (in Minuten): how often the spreadsheet is reloaded.
- Zoom-Faktor: magnification of the display, e.g. 1.
Save & play on the screen
Save the instance at the top right with «Speichern & Schliessen» (Save & Close).
Add to a playlist: Open the playlist, select the «Apps» tab on the right, click the app and then the instance. The instance is added immediately.
Add to a layout: Open the layout and click the pencil on the desired section.
In the «Inhalt für Abschnitt bearbeiten» (Edit content for section) window, use «Inhalt hinzufügen» (Add content) to add the instance. On the right of each element you set the schedule via «Täglich» (Daily).
Then click «Veröffentlichen» (Publish) in the playlist or layout. As long as it says «Entwurf, Veröffentlichung erforderlich» (Draft, publishing required) there, the screen still shows the old state.
Tips & troubleshooting
No access or error message
Select the matching «Link Typ» (Link type) and check the file's sharing settings in OneDrive.
Data outdated
Turn on «Reload» and shorten the «Intervall zum Nachladen» (reload interval).
Too small or too large
Scale using the «Zoom-Faktor» (zoom factor).
Content does not appear
Check whether the playlist or layout is published and assigned to the correct screen and that the Player is online.
