Set up step by step
In nine steps from installing the app to playing it on the screen. The pink marker shows where you need to click.
1 · Open the „Canva“ app in the App Store
Open my.rstv.app and go to Apps. In the Alle (All) list, select the Canva tile.
2 · Create a new instance
The detail page opens. Create a playout with Neue Instanz (New instance).
3 · An empty instance opens
The new instance opens. The Smart Embed URL field is still empty – you will get the matching URL from Canva in the next steps.
4 · Log in at canva.com
Log in at canva.com. Open your existing design – or create a new one.
5 · Share the design
In the opened design, click Share in the top right.
6 · Select „Embed“
In the Share menu, select the Embed (Live) option.
7 · Copy the smart embed link
Copy the Smart embed link with Copy.
8 · Paste the URL & save
Back in revolutionSCREEN, paste the URL into the Smart Embed URL field – the preview appears. Then click Speichern & Schliessen (Save & Close) in the top right.
9 · Play out to the screen
In the instance overview, play the instance to your displays with Auf den Screen (To the screen). Done!
Display duration in Playlist & Layout
Canva shows multiple posts in sequence per instance. If you add the instance to a Playlist or a Layout, you control how long it runs via the element duration. To do this, click the Dauer (Duration) of the app element in the playlist.
Note: This logic applies to all apps with multiple posts per instance.
In the Elementdauer bearbeiten (Edit element duration) dialog, the pro Post (per post) toggle determines two variants:
Variant 1: per post = OFF (total duration)
The set time is the total duration of the instance. Example 00:01:40 (100 seconds): The instance is displayed for 100 seconds. The posts run through in sequence during this time and start again from the beginning if needed – so depending on the time, not necessarily all posts are shown (or individual ones may be shown multiple times).
Variant 2: per post = ON (duration per post)
The set time applies per post. Example 00:00:10: Each post is shown for exactly 10 seconds. With 12 posts, all 12 posts are shown for 10 seconds each (total duration 120 seconds). This ensures that every post really does appear.
Should every post appear reliably? Turn on per post and set seconds per post. Fixed time setting (e.g. for the timing of a Playlist)? Leave per post off and set the total duration.
The Canva APP is compatible with devices that support Android version 11, as well as SAMSUNG displays from model year 2024 onwards (Tizen 7.0). If you are unsure whether your device is compatible, we are happy to provide information.
Do you run a mixed display network with different operating systems and versions? No problem. If the Canva APP is integrated into Playlists and/or Layouts and a device is not compatible, this element is skipped on the respective displays and the next element is played. This way you can play the same Playlist on all your displays.
