Canva Integration

With the «Canva Integration» app, you connect your Canva account directly to revolutionSCREEN and play your Canva designs on your screens without any detours.

You sign in securely via Canva once and then choose a design from your account without copying links. Multi-page designs run through automatically; use «Change slides» to switch designs. If you update the design in Canva, it appears updated on the screen the next time it loads.

• An active revolutionSCREEN account with access to my.rstv.app.
• An account at canva.com with the desired designs.
• At least one screen set up.

Without an account connection, it also works with the «Canva» app and an embed link.

In the sidebar on the left, click «Apps» and then «zum App-Store» (to the app store) at the top.

Scroll to the «Alle» (All) list and click the «Canva Integration» tile. Use the category buttons to narrow down the list.

The app's detail view opens. If it is not yet installed, first click «Installiere» (Install). Then click «Neue Instanz» (New instance). «App Guide» opens a quick guide.

Under «Apps › Meine Apps» (My apps), you see all instances of the app as tiles. Use «Neue Instanz» (New instance) at the top right to create another one, and click a tile to open an existing one.

In the editor, hover over the title and click the pencil to give the instance a name. A new instance shows «Kein Name angegeben» (No name given) in red until then. At the top right, you choose whether the preview appears in portrait or landscape format.

At the very top of the settings, sign in under «Zugang» (Access) with your Canva account. Choose «Sign in with Canva» or an already connected account below.

Canva asks for permission. Allow access with «Allow».

Choose your Canva account and click «Continue to Slides».

Search for the desired design, select it, and apply it with «Bestätigen» (Confirm).

If the connection has expired, the instance reports «Authentifizierung fehlgeschlagen» (Authentication failed). Then sign in again with «Neu authentifizieren» (Re-authenticate).

Once the account is connected, the following settings appear. If the connection has expired, you only see the message, as in the image. On the left are all the settings; on the right you immediately see in the live preview how the instance looks on the screen. Use the arrow next to the card to collapse the settings.

• Zugang (Access): connected Canva account (status «logged in») and the chosen design. Use «Change slides» to select a different design.
• Dauer (Duration): display time per page in seconds.
• Bild strecken (Stretch image): fills the area completely; the design may be cropped in the process.

Canva Integration shows several posts one after another per instance. When you place the instance in a playlist or layout, you use the element duration to set how long it runs. To do this, click the element's duration. This logic applies to all apps with multiple posts per instance.

In the «Elementdauer bearbeiten!» (Edit element duration) window, the toggle decides between two variants. It is usually called «pro Post» (per post), and for presentations «pro Slide» (per slide). Apply the setting with «Confirm».

Variant 1: toggle OFF (total duration)
The set time applies to the entire instance. Example 00:01:00: the instance runs for one minute. During this time the posts cycle through in order and start over if needed. So not all posts necessarily appear.

Variant 2: toggle ON (duration per post)
The set time applies to each post. Example 00:00:10 with 12 posts: each post appears for exactly 10 seconds, and the instance runs for 2 minutes in total. In the list, «pro Post» or «pro Slide» then appears below the duration.

Save the instance at the top right with «Speichern & Schliessen» (Save & close).

Add to a playlist: Open the playlist, choose the «Apps» tab on the right, click the app and then the instance. The instance is added immediately.

Add to a layout: Open the layout and click the pencil at the desired section.

In the «Inhalt für Abschnitt bearbeiten» (Edit content for section) window, add the instance with «Inhalt hinzufügen» (Add content). On the right of each element, use «Täglich» (Daily) to set the schedule.

Then click «Veröffentlichen» (Publish) in the playlist or layout. As long as it says «Entwurf, Veröffentlichung erforderlich» (Draft, publishing required) there, the screen still shows the old state.
