Weather

Weather — displays the current weather and forecast for a location on the screen. As full screen or as a ticker, in portrait and landscape.

Bring weather info to the display – current temperature, daily trend and multi-day forecast. Location, language, unit and appearance are freely selectable. The display is responsive and runs either as full screen or as a slim ticker.

This is how Weather looks on the screen – location, language and colours are freely selectable. Use the arrows to browse through the examples:

• An active revolutionSCREEN account with access to my.rstv.app.
• The desired location for the weather data.
• At least one configured screen for playout.

Open my.rstv.app and go to Apps. Switch to the app overview with zum App-Store (to the App Store) and open the Weather tile (category News, Office Tools).

The detail page opens. If the app is not yet installed, first click Installieren (install). Then (or if it already says Installiert / installed) click Neue Instanz (new instance).

In the editor you choose the location, the temperature unit and the appearance. The live preview runs on the right.

The settings in the left area – field by field:

• Standort: city/location for the weather data.
• Primäre / Sekundäre Schriftart: fonts for title and body text.
• Sprache: display language of the content.
• Temperatur Einheit: Celsius or Fahrenheit.
• Text- / Hintergrundfarbe: colours of the board (colour picker, background as gradient).
• Ticker: switches from the full-screen to the ticker display – see below.

All applications by revolutionSCREEN – and therefore Weather too – are responsive: they automatically adapt to portrait and landscape. At the top of the editor you switch between orientations using the two icons, and the live preview shows the result instantly. This way the same content fits landscape-mounted displays just as well as portrait-standing steles.

Instead of the full-screen view, Weather can also run as a ticker – a compact weather band, ideal as an addition at the edge of the screen or embedded in a Layout. To do so, activate the Ticker switch in the editor. Two additional fields appear:

• Ticker-Tage: number of forecast days in the band (e.g. 3).
• Ticker Layout: chooses between different layouts for displaying the band (e.g. Default).

In the app's instance management you see all existing instances and create another one with Neue Instanz (new instance, top right). Using the Auf den Screen (to the screen) icon you play an instance directly to a screen or a group.

1. Name the instance and configure it as desired (location, appearance, orientation, full screen or ticker).
2. Save at the top right with Speichern & Schliessen (save & close).
3. The instance is now available under the app.
4. Assign it to your screen – directly as content or embedded in a Layout or a Playlist.
5. At the next sync the content appears on the display and updates automatically.
