Google Calendar

Google Calendar — displays events from a Google Calendar clearly on the screen.

Purpose

Bring your Google Calendar to the display – upcoming events appear automatically and update continuously.

Requirements

  • An active revolutionSCREEN account with access to my.rstv.app.
  • A Google account with access to the desired calendar.
  • At least one configured screen for playback.

Install the app

Open my.rstv.app and go to Apps. In the Alle (All) list, find the Google Calendar tile and click it.

The detail page opens. If the app is not yet installed, first click Installieren (Install). Then (or if it already shows Installiert / Installed) click Neue Instanz (New instance).

What is an instance?

An instance is a specific, configured output of the app – a connected Google Calendar with its display settings. You can create multiple instances and assign them to different screens.

Manage instances

After clicking, you land in the app's instance management. Here you see existing instances and can create another one with Neue Instanz (New instance, top right).

Connect & configure Google

In the editor, connect your Google account via einloggen (log in) (status logged in), select the calendars and the appearance. The live preview runs on the right.

The settings in the left area – field by field:

  • Access: connect with your Google account via einloggen (log in) (status logged in).
  • Calendars: select the calendars to display.
  • Logo: choose your own logo via Bilder (Images).
  • Layout: presentation (e.g. Upcoming = upcoming events).
  • Primary / secondary font: fonts for titles and body text.
  • Language: display language of the content.
  • Title: heading of the board (e.g. Welcome).
  • Duration (sec.): display duration (e.g. 10).
  • Text / line / background color: colors of the board (color picker).
  • Background image: optional background image.
  • Current Time: show/hide the current time.
  • Calendar name / Location: show/hide the calendar name or location.

Connect account

This app requires login with your Google account (on the left under Access → einloggen / log in). If no content or an authentication message appears, the connection has expired – simply re-authenticate.

Save & play on the screen

  1. Name the instance and configure it as desired.
  2. Save it with Speichern & Schliessen (Save & close) in the top right.
  3. The instance is now available under the app.
  4. Assign it to your screen – directly as content or embedded in a Layout or a Playlist.
  5. At the next sync, the content appears on the display.

Tips & troubleshooting

No events

Connect the Google account and activate the correct Calendars.

Wrong layout

Choose e.g. Upcoming via Layout.

Hard to read

Ensure sufficient contrast.

Content does not appear

Check whether the instance is assigned to the correct screen/layout and the Player is online.
